INTER HOUSE KITCHEN GENIUS COMPETITION – “COOKING WITHOUT FIRE” (J3-J5)

“Cooking is not just about ingredients, recipes, and taste. It’s about harnessing imagination, empowerment and creativity.” To make our scholars aware of this fact and to experience self management and culinary skills, the school organised an Inter House cooking without fire competition titled ‘KITCHEN GENIUS’ on 1st August, 2022 for the junior scholars of level J3-J5. It was an International School Award (ISA) activity in collaboration with the British Council. There were four teams, one of each house. Each House had to present the cuisines of any one country of their choice. The participants had to prepare dishes without any source of heat or prepared ingredients. Scholars dressed in beautiful aprons and chef caps exhibited their creativity and also spoke confidently before the judges while presenting their recipes. The dishes were served in an artistic and aesthetic way which was most appealing and was a visual treat tickling to the taste buds. The competition proved to be an amalgamation of both knowledge and entertainment. The competition was judged on the basis of health and hygiene, taste of the dish, creativity and overall presentation.
